Subscribers get an exclusive first look at the most interesting new indies and foreign films, giving them a chance to spread their cinematic wings! Become an “industry insider” with the JBFC Programming Team and Preview Club.

Join our host—programmer Ian LoCascio from our programming team—each month as he presents a special “secret” screening of an anticipated new film release before it is available to the public. 2025 titles included The Wedding Banquet, The Ballad of Wallis Island, and Jane Austen Wrecked My Life.

Ian LoCascio Ian started at the JBFC Theater as an Audience Services Associate and then House Manager, before moving into the programming department in November 2022. A passionate cinephile, his cinematic interests lean toward the films of Claire Denis, Andrei Tarkovsky, and Hong Sang-soo. In addition to his love and knowledge of film, Ian is a classically trained actor who received a BFA with Honors from NYU Tisch School of the Arts in 2020.

Each evening of the JBFC Preview Club begins at 7:15 pm with an introduction by the host, who announces the film selection at that time. The element of surprise is one of Preview Club’s fun highlights, giving viewers the opportunity to discover films they might ordinarily miss! The host also hosts a brief discussion after the film. The dates are Jul. 8, Aug. 5, Sep. 2, Oct. 7, Nov 11, Dec. 9.

• The Preview Club meets monthly at 7:15 pm on a previously-scheduled Tuesday (subscribers subscribe to a specific series of dates).
• The club is available to Jacob Burns Film Center members by subscription only.
• It is available as a 6-month series ($150 per person) or a 3-month series ($75 per person) in two seasons: Jan.–June and July–Dec.
• Subscriptions are initially sold during an advance Priority Purchase period to JBFC members at the Film Buff level and above, every fall and spring. Any remaining seats after the Priority Purchase will be available to members at other levels.
• The six-month and three-month option is offered as a tier-1 Priority Purchase benefit to Film Sponsor, Film Enthusiast and Silver Screen Circle members of the film center first.
• The six-month and three-month option is offered as a tier-2 Priority Purchase benefit to Film Buff and above members after tier-1.

Ticket buyers must be a member to purchase tickets to Preview Club and tickets are only sold as a subscription.
